CYCLING

Priory Grove, and the surrounding areas are beautiful places to ride your bike with a wide variety of scenery, historic buildings, Wytham Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest, and designated traffic-free routes via the Oxford Cycle Network.

Several local schools, shops, community services, and employment areas are accessible within 15 minutes of Priory Grove. You can cycle to all the facilities in Water Eaton and the surrounding suburbs, as well as most of Oxford, including the City Centre, all within a 30-minute ride. Priory Grove connects directly to a shared use path which further connects to main cycle routes and onto numerous quieter cycle routes, of which provide great cycle accessibility in and around Oxford.

For more information on local cycling routes, visit: www.transportparadise.co.uk/cyclemap/

Priory Grove also connects to the national cycle network, with National Cycle Route 51 (NCR51) connecting to Oxford City Centre in the south via Banbury Road and some off-road sections.

NCR 51 is mostly on-road but does include some off-road cycle tracks in proximity to the site, such as a section through Sunnymead Recreation Ground and via sections of shared footway / cycleway.

Explore your local community by bike!

We’re encouraging families to get more out of life – by getting on your bike and exploring the local community – either for an outing at the weekend, or a trip to the local shops, part of the school run, or daily commute.
